MakeSomeTime.com Has Moved

Just to let you know that the downtime over the last few days has been due to our migration to a VPS.net server. Hopefully things should be running faster than ever. If you find any bugs or have any problems please let us know.

We are actually so cutting edge now that I’m afraid OpenId will not be enabled for the moment because it doesn’t work with the latest version of PHP. Hopefully this will be sorted soon.

MakeSomeTime is now Completely Free

After much deliberation and listening to your comments about the old pricing scheme for MakeSomeTime I have decided to make MakeSomeTime completely free!

All aspects of the app are now free to use. This decision was also encouraged by the fact that I am no longer actively developing MakeSomeTime, however I will still be fixing bugs when I find them. If you had any credit remaining in your account it has been set to zero and no refund will be given.

I hope you enjoy this change to MakeSomeTime and continue to get a lot of use out of the app. As always please let me know what you think.

Pricing Scheme Change

A smallish change to MakeSomeTime today. We’ve decided to change the pricing scheme slightly to help us continue to run the site as best we can. Instead of charging a flat rate of $1 to send invoices we will now charge 1% of the invoice total (in USD) to send an invoice. Note that you can still create as many invoices as you want and re-sending invoices will cost you nothing.

So for example:

  • Sending an invoice with a total of $100 will cost you $1.
  • Sending an invoice with a total of $250 will cost you $3.
  • Sending an invoice with a total of $500 will cost you $5.
  • And so on…

As always we love to hear what you think about the changes we make to MakeSomeTime. So let us know.

Small Tweaks

Today we released some small changes and bug fixes to the system. These include:

  • Upgrade to allow UTF-8 support (meaning Iñtërnâtiônàl users can use the system better).
  • Fixed task editing time formatting to allow you to edit hours greater than 99.

Service Update 16th Feb 2010

Apart from upgrading our pricing scheme today another small change occurred so this is just to make you guys aware of it. Rounding of numbers in Invoices has now been sorted so it is now far more accurate. Also on project invoices the amount of time in hours is now shown to 1 decimal place and if the time for a task is less than 1 hour it will show the time in “30 mins” rather than “0.5 hours” (or whatever time).
